I was raised in Horatio, Arkansas. After graduating high school in 1991, I attended Henderson State Univeristy in Arkadelphia, Arkansas where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I went to work at Horatio Elementary School in the fall of 1996 as the 5/6 science teacher.
After teaching in the classroom for several years, I received a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M in Texarkana and began a career as guidance counselor at Horatio Elementary School. I later went back to college and recieved certification as an educational examiner and in administration. I was employed at the Horatio School District for 20 years.
In the summer of 2015, I took the position opened here at De Queen High School as guidance counselor. I am currently the District Testing Coordinator, Eschool Coordinator, and Carl Perkins Funding coordinator. I love working with the students and faculty/staff here at De Queen. The faculty and staff at DeQueen make each day a great day to be at work.
I am married to Bud Gentry. I have two daughters, Ashley and Cassady Sharp, and two step-sons, Trey and Trent Gentry.
